Speaking of  Blueprints

 

This piece was constructed from text derived from various parts of the blueprints for the new NBMAA building and renovation.

 

The recording of the voice was made by speaking through one of the plumbing pipes that will be used as a percussion instrument with the mic placed just inside the lip of the pipe on the other side. A large trowel was being scraped on the lip of the speaking side of the pipe. Various takes were then processed in a number of ways using MetaSynth and were finally assembled, mixed and bounced in Logic Pro.
